"Siting" a site

This ("The article sites previous cases, where sites were prohibited by judges from linking to files which violated copyright law.") has to be an example of something, I just don't know what it's called. Of course, the first occurence should be "cites" while the second is correct.

What do you call it when a misspelled homophone makes two words that should look different indistinguishable?
